Why do some people only review fics when they have negative things to say? Just got a comment consisting of initially nice compliments immediately followed by a very long and negative ‘couldn’t even finish the chapter’ critique because the last chapter of Secret Ceremonials did not match someone’s idea of a character being anything but ultra dominant. They are a real-life sub/masochist, so they know. What they don’t know is I too am a submissive switch in an actual real-life d/s dynamic, and yet my opinion is vastly different. Because this is fiction. Because some things are wholly subjective, and there is no hard and fast rule. And that should be okay, is prefaced as being okay, but still wrong.

Comments are rare enough on my work as is, so this is both hard to swallow, and is made worse by the fact that someone has been following the story for the last 10 chapters/roughly 82k and waited up until now to say anything to me. And when they do, they say they love everything about the story up until now, that the first few chapters moved them to tears and inspired them, but they only decided to comment because they felt the need to give me their opinion on how horrible the last chapter was, and how my characterization is incorrect based on their personal perception of a character. That in not so many words, I have essentially lost a reader because of this.

Constructive criticism I can take and take well, but stuff like this just breaks my spirit and makes me question myself. I honestly don’t know when the next update will be available. It’s been hard enough lately as is. I’m sorry to the handful of you who do follow and enjoy it. 

I honestly don’t know what I’m doing anymore.

Trying to stay civil, and yet still convey that this type of thing is not okay. It’s been a very rough week with the hurricane, little sleep, no electricity til tonight and everything else so this hit me a bit harder than usual. Thanks again for the support. Well fuck that asshole first of all.
Staying civil is all and cool, but they weren’t so I don’t see why you should offer them the courtesy of it.

Also people who are being assholes in comment is just UGH and funnily enough I’ve yet to see them on FFnet, it’s only AO3 where I get weird/assholish comments.

Anyway, you didn’t deserve to get a scathing comment just bc you don’t ascribe on how other people view that one character.

It has been a month since Dan Kato was killed in action, and in her grief, Tsunade has decided to run away from the village and everything in it. Jiraiya and Orochimaru are sent to intercept her before she can leave the borders of Fire Country, and they find her near collapse. There is much more behind their team dynamic than anyone knows, and everything between them is about to change. 

This work is my labor of love – it began as a two-shot but apparently wanted to be a saga, and here I am 90k later. If you are at all interested in a Sannin OT3 fix-it, with angst, smut, plot, and enough fluff to balance it out, this story may be for you.

2. As We Fall – KisaMei – Explicit – 1/1

Summary: Adrenaline makes us brave, love makes us weak. When both are gone, there is nothing left to lose. As Kirigakure deteriorates from within, Terumi Mei puts everything on the line to save that which she considers more important than herself.

Bittersweet and beautiful, this was written for Smut Monday’s “Heroine” theme, and is my take on a bit of Mei’s backstory, just prior to revolution in Kirigakure.

3. Finding Heaven – TenzouTenten – Mature – 1/1

Summary: Forgotten people find something to call their own.

Chance meeting fluff and mild smut, Post 4th Shinobi War. Neither character got the ending they deserved, so here is my solution, resulting in the rarest of rare pairings, which is now one of my favorite pieces because it is so unexpectedly sweet. Give it a chance, you won’t regret it.
