Asexual children exist.

Allosexual children exist.

Children who don’t know or care or understand one way or the other exist.

Children interact with their sexualities, impulses, and interpersonal development in different ways depending on their experiences and their selves.

Children who experience sexual attraction may or may not experience it in ways that remain the same as the grow and develop into adulthood, but that does not mean it can never exist.

Children who do not experience sexual attraction can decide to identify any way they like without implying anything about the way other children interact with their sexuality. Children who do experience sexual attraction are can decide to identify in ways that help them without implying anything about other children’s relationship with their sexuality.

Op, you’re literally a living piece of shit, children should not experience sexual feelings ever. Period, and if they are then there’s something wrong going on. Attempting to label children with stuff like asexual and allosexual further confuses them at a vulnerable age and puts children in boxes that they don’t even understand. OP is literally not 26 and you have no idea who I am.

It will never fail to amaze me how desperate you all are to ignore the context that “children” here refers to anyone under age 18 (do ya’ll really not think 16 and 17 year olds experience sexual attraction?) or that this post was made by a CSA and COCSA survivor who was specifically basing the “allosexual children” part on themselves prior to victimization.

If ya’ll wanna talk about abuse, talk about how comments like these, calling my experience of my sexuality disgusting, are literally why I ended up trapped in the abusive situations that led to my sexual abuse.

Or maybe just try to realize that if a post doesn’t describe your experience, that doesn’t mean it’s not helpful to somebody.

Acknowledging that children can have sexual feelings and sexual attraction is not “thinking about children in a sexual context”. It is acknowledging fact. 

Kids can develop sexual attraction at as young as nine years old. The onset of puberty is usually the catalyst, but there is no magic age at which children hit puberty – some skew younger, some older.

When I was 13-14, my peers were already having sex with each other. They were already sexually active. I knew I was ace by that time because I had no drive to do these things, or even talk about these things. So to say that any neurotypical child 14 and under can’t have any concept of being ace or not, can’t have any concept of sexual feelings, is disingenuous and ignorant at best. If you’ve ever attended a public school, especially here in the US where we have poor sex education, you know that kids as young as 12 are already sexually active with their peers.

To acknowledge that is not sexualizing children. 

There are kids who know they are not straight by the time they are 10, or even younger. I knew I was ace by age 12, I just didn’t have the word for it. 

Please stop with the conflation that discussing the known fact that children can be sexual with the sexualization of children, and stop calling people pedophiles/pedophile apologists for acknowledging these facts. 

Reminder that ignoring that children can have sexual feelings, and therefore refusing to have healthy, educational discussions with them about sexual feelings, safe sex, and consent can leave children as easy targets to legitimate predators. This is something that several CSA survivors have discussed. I’d recommend listening to them instead of just spewing bullshit. 

(Also, uh, hey, being assaulted doesn’t change your neurotype. I don’t even know how to explain how…wrong, that is? But that sentence is very questionable at best. Your “Abused = Neuroatypical” implication there is very, very wrong. And the implication that a neurotypical child is incapable of feeling sexual attraction means…only neuroatypical children, as you say “abused children”, can have these feelings that you’re painting as inherently bad? Do you realize how fucked up that is? Please stop.)
