There are characters I would probably die for but at the
same time I get personally offended when people say “They’re a pure cinnamon
roll who did nothing wrong uwu” like EXCUSE ME, they did a lot of things wrong,
they are a walking dumpster fire, do not deny their crimes.
fuck okay i’ve actually thought about this…like i can think of three possible explanations for the eye thing and theyre all equally sad:
1. just like the caption says, kakashi tries to hold his emotions in to such a degree that it has to escape somehow, and the sharingan (which is associated with strong emotion) weeps with the tears kakashi won’t/can’t consciously shed
2. there really is, somehow, a little piece of obito’s spirit living in that eye, enough to cry at the misery and pain of a friend
3. it’s just physiological. the tearing is purely a response to the pain and inflammation the sharingan causes (made worse by the fact that it’s foreign tissue). but it reminds kakashi of crybaby obito, and so he just attaches that significance where it doesn’t really belong, and the memory provides a reason for the pain and gives kakashi another way to ruminate on his guilt
I LOVE ALL OF THIS but also, consider: remember how Obito was capable of “tuning into” Kakashi’s vision when Kakashi was experiencing the immense emotional pain of having killed Rin? …what if Kakashi was similarly tuning into Obito’s immense emotional pain during his underground experience with Madara? ʘωʘ;;;
Kakashi thinks it’s his trauma from Obito’s death that has him seeing rocks and dirt and shadowy images of sharingan eyes staring coldly at him from the darkness, but there’s something even more sinister behind his new eye’s unceasing tears…uhuhuhu
