This is what he would look like if he really liked showing us those gnashers… 🤔 I feel very conflicted… Nice to see him smile and all but hmmm…. Also, I think we should all ignore the fact that he looks a bit like Gargamel in the bottom left pic… Yes… As you can see, I have had a very productive morning and got many, many important things done… *pats self on back*

So here’s the thing. The point of wlw/mlm language is solidarity. Bisexual is indeed its own orientation, but we share some things with the gay communities.
So when a character is portrayed as mlm/wlw and its implied they are bi, its not “stealing” from gay rep. They are mlm/wlw, and that doesn’t mean they “deserve” to be gay more than bi. Being bi doesn’t “cheapen” their mlm/wlw relationship. Gay people are not more entitled to representation than bi people.
Furthermore, discrediting bi attraction as “compulsory heterosexuality” has been a long standing biphobic argument against bi people; using it against bi characters isn’t much better. Considering that compulsory heterosexuality is a not-as-well-known community concept among straights, the likelihood of straight people portraying it in media is slim to none.
Furthermore, if a character is entirely fictional, has not been given a canon orientation past mlm/wlw status, and has openly displayed attraction to more than one gender, anger or aggressive objection to bi headcanons can literally be nothing BUT biphobia. Literally the only fuel for such reactions are the biphobic ones listed above.
Using the accusation of bi headcanons on characters like that being “homophobic” won’t detract attention from your biphobia. We can see it. Us bisexuals have been called homophobic for just existing for ages. Using the same tactics on characters vs real people doesn’t make it less bad, or more tolerable/excusable. This WILL reflect badly on you.
Can we demolish the idea that being nonbinary, agender, genderqueer, or gender variant is just “a new fad” because people are trying to be “special snowflakes"
Historically, there has always notion that there are more than two genders (male and female).
Just because you haven’t heard about it before doesn’t mean it hasn’t existed.
The only thing that really bothers me about Internet meme culture is that I can never use the phrase “oh, really?” with anyone of my generation without knowing that they’re picturing that godforsaken owl.
